Welcome to our Burns Bog website! Burns Bog is an ecological treasure located in the heart of Delta, British Columbia.  We have developed this website to share the beauty of Burns Bog and to raise awareness of its unique ecosystem and the critical need to preserve it for future generations.

It has been our long-term goal to develop a website that provides detailed information on the history, science and restoration activities at Burns Bog. I encourage you to explore the many informative pages on this site to discover the natural wonders of the Bog.  Whether you are looking for a chronology of events at Burns Bog or simply want to check out the photos in our gallery, you will find it here.  Be sure to visit the site often, as we will be launching a Kid’s Science Corner featuring games, interesting facts, quizzes and experiments – a great educational tool for both teachers and parents alike.

Critical to the conservation of Burns Bog was the purchase of 2,042 hectares of bog land in 2004 by four levels of government and its protection under a conservation covenant.  We continue to pursue opportunities to increase the extent of protected lands in an effort to achieve the long-term sustainability of Burns Bog.
